In 1997, I happened to find the plaque seen here at the Mission Dam. I thought it was interesting that the landmark was numbered, and then I thought it might be fun to find all of the California landmarks. I soon discovered there are about 1100 of them, with more being added. But for some reason that didn't stop me, so I decided to begin my quest. It's taken me to many back corners of the state so far, and it is still ongoing.

These pages are my chronicle of the landmarks I've visited. I have included any pictures I have, although in my lack of forethought, I didn't photograph many of the early landmarks I visited. As I can, I will add any new photographs I take.

I have made a page for every landmark I've visited, and I've tried to correct any mistakes in directions or info found in the guidebook. I've also included a map to each one. You can click on a county at the left to see its landmarks.
